We all have storms that blow up in our lives. Fear and unbelief will try to overwhelm. But the what the enemy meant for evil, God uses for our good. What the enemy tries to use to sink us, God will not only take us through, but will use it it prepare us to ministry to people in a greater way on the other side of the storm.
In 1519, Captain Hernán Cortés landed in Veracruz to begin his great conquest. Upon arriving, he gave the order to his men to burn the ships.
What Cortés did was force himself and his men to either succeed or die. Retreat was not an option. To truly achieve our purpose and live out our identity, there are times when we need to “burn the ships.”
The question we have to ask ourselves is this: What are my ships? What am I holding on to that is hindering me from fulfilling my destiny?
